From the time Tony Rodriguez was a boy riding in the back of his Fathers old blue Chevy work truck up to today he has had ties to concrete and concrete construction. In time along with his father and two brothers they built up the family concrete business to become one of the largest flat work concrete companies in the state of Idaho. Traveling the northwest installing floors and doing ground up concrete in Targets, Wallgreens, Petsmart, and several Walmarts as well as industrial factory construction.
Having this background in structural concrete has helped him to appreciate no matter how beautiful something looks there is a whole other art to knowing how to build something to last from the ground up. Your project is only as good as what it is built on and how it is built.
Tony did his first decorative stamped concrete job in 1990. Soon after stain and overlay jobs followed. His love for decorative also grew as the company got more and more involved growing to be a large installer of decorative concrete products.
In 1993 Tony went to New York for 5 years, doing volunteer construction work on a new Educational Center. There he worked on Structural Concrete Forming and Concrete Placement. This proved to be an invaluable experience for him and an experience he would not change for anything.
In the year 2000 Tony married his wife Susan and soon after moved to Southern California to start a Decorative Concrete and Hardscape company . This is where his skills were greatly refined working on many beautiful properties in the South Orange County area. He had the privilege of working with some of the best concrete artisans in the decorative concrete field. This experience opened his eyes to all of the different possibilities using decorative concrete for function as well as art.
In 2004 Tony and Susan moved to San Antonio Texas where he worked with his brother and father again and in time started Precision Decorative Concrete. Tony also worked as a Factory Rep. for Butterfield Color a decorative concrete products company. He covered south Texas as well as the whole Gulf Coast helping contractors with technical issues and training them how to properly install decorative concrete products. This really helped him to appreciate the science behind the products and how it affects a good quality finished result.
